10 podcasts every #GirlBoss should listen to
Podcasts are like that little jar of blueberry jam at the bottom of my fridge that I bought eight months ago in Charlevoix. Nine times out of ten I forget it exists, but THE time I remember it exists and put it on my toast, I'm like "It's so good, why don't I eat it. more often?". It's the same with podcasts. (Nice analogy, I know.)
I'm sure that many of you have already been introduced to the wonderful world of podcasts, but for others who, like me, have not yet integrated them into their daily lives, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?!? Instead of listening to a playlist on repeat for the umpteenth time or endlessly scrolling through our Instagram feed, we should download a podcast: the perfect in-between to relax, but also to learn something along the way.
Since Marigold will be selling at the Atelier b boutique on January 25 and 26 and will be surrounded by a host of extraordinary women entrepreneurs (Elisa C. Rossow, Les Enfants Sauvages, Josiane Perron, Mercedes Morin, Noémiah, petit atelier b and Supayana), I decided to offer you podcasts for the #girlboss of this world.
Episodes I'm really looking forward to: How to Maintain Your Brand's Voice and Personality (#289), How to Attract the Right Consumer with Brand Storytelling (#274), How to Overcome Your Inner Critique (#260)
What's this? How to become an expert in your field? How to become THE resource person in your industry with whom everyone wants to work? Jaclyn Mellone tries to answer this complex question by sharing a ton of advice that she regularly applies herself with the brands she works for as a consultant.
Episodes I'm really looking forward to: What Will Grow Your Business in 2019 (#2), How to Charge What You're “Worth” (#307), How to Figure Out What Help You Need in Your Business (#297)
What's this? In all honesty, if I had discovered Jenna Kutcher on Instagram, I probably wouldn't have subscribed (let's say her preppy aesthetic doesn't really speak to me). On the other hand, his podcast is stuffed with ultra well explained and very targeted information that really has the potential to enrich the knowledge of anyone in the job market.
Episodes I'm really looking forward to: 5 Ways to Foster a Team Culture (#135), How I Doubled My Instagram Growth in One Month (#155), Why a Money Mindset Matters (#209)
What's this? Founders of the Think Creative online course platform, Abagail Pumphrey and Emylee Williams share some of their knowledge via this relaxed signature podcast (it feels like we're chatting with two friends), but rigorous when it comes to interview their guests and explain advanced professional concepts.
Episodes I'm really looking forward to: Begginer Business Series (#174, 176, 178, 180, 184), Rethinking your Email Marketing Strategies (#223), Finding Your Voice and the Power of Story-Telling (# 239)
What's this? Because sometimes you have to talk about serious things, this podcast is an incredible resource for everything related to the countless monetary questions. The episodes of Farnoosh Torabi, award-winning financial strategist, TV host and bestselling author, are divided into two parts: either she answers a specific question (ex: What should I do with my money and my career before having children?), or that she interviews successful entrepreneurs to learn more about their journey and the financial realities of their business.
Episodes I'm really looking forward to: Kari Skogland, Director, The Handmaid's Tale (#721), Alli Webb, DryBar Founder (#763), How to Build My DIY Financial Plan (#764), Should I Rent or Buy (#785)
What's this? Do I really need to introduce Sophia Amoruso? The founder of Nasty Gal (RIP) launched in 2017 Girlboss Media, a web platform that brings together (both on the web and in person) and informs the millennial and ambitious women of today. Through her podcast, Sophia receives both superstars (Gwyneth Paltrow, Rupi Kaur, Aimee Song, etc.) and more underground guests, but with equally interesting backgrounds.
Episodes I'm really looking forward to: Aurora James - Brother Bellies Founder (#77), Michelle Phan - Creator of Ipsy, EM Cosmetics and OG Beauty Youtuber (#28), Michelle Lee - Editor in Chief of Allure ( #2)
